Itinerary

Day 1

Welcome to Cairo

  • As you land at the Cairo airport, our Travelwings representative will welcome and assist you through the immigration process.
  • After clearing customs, you will be escorted to a deluxe AC bus for your transfer to the hotel.
  • The hotel staff welcomes you with welcome drinks as they assist you with the check-in formalities.
  • The rest of the evening is at your leisure to do as you choose, followed by an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2

City Tour of Cairo (full-day)

  • After a hearty breakfast, we will embark on a full-day tour of the city with the first stop being the pyramids of Giza namely Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus.
  • The Cheops pyramid is popular for its inner burial chambers and is open to public viewing.
  • The next stop will be the Sphinx, a popular archaeological structure depicting a statue with a pharaoh's head and a lion’s body.
  • A quick visit to the Papyrus Institute or the local perfume shop can be arranged.
  • Our next stop will be at the National Museum of Egypt, which houses artefacts dating back from the pre-historic era to the Greco-Roman period.
  • The complex has over 107 halls, with the ground floor exhibiting big statues from different eras.
  • The next part of the tour will include a transfer to the Khan El Khalili bazaars, a famous market in Cairo with narrow alleyways.
  • The market is an excellent place to shop for jewellery, copper-made items, parquetry boxes, semi-precious stones, rugs and other souvenirs.
  • Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Cairo.

Day 3

Cairo - Alexandria

  • The day begins with an early breakfast in the hotel, after which you will board an AC coach for a road trip to Alexandria.
  • The road journey to Alexandria is 225 km.
  • On reaching Alexandria, a guided tour of the city will commence with the first stop at the Roman Amphitheatre, the Catacombs, Pompeii Pillar and a photo session outside the Qait Bay Cathedral.
  • The next destination will be the Qait Bay Fort home to the famous Alexandria Lighthouse.
  • In the evening we will drive back followed by an overnight stay at the hotel in Cairo.

Day 4

Cairo - Aswan - Nile Cruise

  • The day begins with a scrumptious Egyptian breakfast, followed by check out from the hotel in Cairo.
  • Next, you will be taken to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan.
  • Once we arrive in Aswan, our representative will assist you in your transfer to the Nile Cruise for check-in followed by lunch.
  • The cruise will make a stop at the High Dam, the dam spans over 360 feet in height and 12,500 feet across the Nile.
  • The dam is not the largest, yet it is an impressive feat of engineering built back in 1971. The reservoir behind the dam is named after the second president of Egypt, Gamal Abdel Nasser.
  • The cruise will also make a stop at the Philae Temple, which offers a picturesque view of the region.
  • The dinner will be back aboard the cruise followed by an overnight stay.

Day 5

Aswan - Kom Ombo

  • Today the breakfast will be served aboard the cruise as it makes its way to the Kom Ombo temple.
  • The temple is a popular structure built in honour of the crocodile god ‘Sobek’
  • The temple was built at a certain bend on the Nile River, where in ancient times on the bank of the river Nile crocodiles used to bask in the sun.
  • After that, the ship will commence its cruise for Edfu, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6

Edfu - Luxor

  • After breakfast, you will disembark the ship for a tour of the temple of Horus.
  • The temple is one of the largest completely preserved temples of Horus, the Egyptian god of sun, sky and kingship, located in the heart of Edfu.
  • After that, we will commence our cruise to Luxor, followed by lunch aboard the cruise.
  • After arriving in Luxor, you will disembark the cruise for a tour of the Luxor and Karnak temples.
  • The massive Karnak temple was built in honour of the god of air and creation, ‘Amun’.
  • The temple was built over two millennia, by pharaohs across generations. A complete tour of the temple could take days to explore the numerous pylons, obelisks, and smaller temples that lie within.
  • The next stop will be the temple of Luxor, said to have been once connected to Karnak with an avenue the length of 3 km adorned by human-headed sphinxes on both sides.
  • To date, the Luxor temple stands as a testament to the beauty and ingenuity of Egyptian civilisation and architecture dating back centuries.
  • Dinner and overnight stay will happen aboard the cruise.

Day 7

Luxor - Hurghada

  • After breakfast aboard the cruise, we will check out and disembark the ship for a tour of Luxor City.
  • The tour will cover popular tourist attractions like the Valley of Kings, Hatshepsut Temple and the Colossi of Memnon.
  • Post the tour, you will embark on a road trip to Hurghada, where on arrival you will be checked in at the hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 8

Day of Leisure

  • After a scrumptious Egyptian breakfast, the rest of the day is at your leisure, followed by an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 9

Departure

  • After breakfast, you will check out and be transferred via road to the international airport in Cairo for your flight back to your home country.
