The ADSL services were introduced in Lebanon in April 2007. There was 1,284,361 number of subscribers till July 2011. The ADSL services have been going under major up-gradation throughout the country from time to time to improve the service quality.
Wireless Internet services were offered for the first time in 2005. ISP's fees revolve around $45/month. The wireless internet is convenient and can connect nearly anywhere through a receiver. There are 18 licensed ISPs (Internet Services Providers) operating in Lebanon like SME SARL, Broadband Plus, ComNet, Farah Net, Fiberlink Networks, and much more.
The rise in competition in the previous decade helped in improving the services of the internet providers but still, a lot of work needs to be done to make it the best. It is recommended to get the pack of international calling and data services to stay in touch with your loved ones.
Info: Use the online applications (Skype, Facebook, Instagram, and much more) to talk to your friends and family. As the industry is still budding, public Wi-Fi services are not very reliable.
