Bangkok has a very interesting history and those who love listening to forgotten age-old chronicles would find the city's past fascinating. Though there are no proven records of the first settlement of Bangkok, it is believed that the city was founded under the Ayutthaya (Siamese) Kingdom around the 15th century. Centuries-old sites and buildings around the city prove that.

Formed as a tiny trade center, Bangkok played a significant role in the development of Ayutthaya. It became an important part of the Siamese culture in its subsequent years. Due to immense trade and farming, the city, which was then a small village, gained fame across different kingdoms.

Gradually, under the Siamese kingdom, Bangkok flourished and recorded tremendous growth. Its small village settlement got converted into a town and eventually, into a city. As the kings of the Ayutthaya kingdom were open to westernization, the city took no time in becoming a leader of maritime trade. However, modernization hit the city during the mid-19th century. Local Buses
Buses run throughout the city day and night. It is one of the cheapest means of transport as a ride on a bus would cost you in the range of 8 baht - 12 Baht, which is quite affordable. As the bus is one of the best ways of getting around the city, it is used by thousands of tourists every day. Day buses run between 05:00 am and 11:00 pm every day. Boats
