Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome To Al Ula! Evening Old Town Guided Tour
Day one of your tour will commence with your arrival at the Al Ula International Airport in the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia (KSA). At the airport, you will be welcomed by our English-speaking guide. Our representative and your chauffeur will escort you to the Habitas in Al Ula for your check-in.
In the evening get a glimpse into Al Ula’s not-so-distant past via the Al Ula Old Town Tour. A Rawi (guide) will lead you through Al Ula Old Town, where pilgrims, travellers and permanent settlers congregated through the ages. Inhabited from before the 12th century up until the early 1980s, Al Ula Old Town offers researchers unique oral histories and living memory that the area’s other heritage sites cannot. With 900 houses, 500 shops, and 5 town squares, you can explore a maze of remnants of original stone and mud brick buildings and enjoy views of the Al Ula Castle that dates back to the 10th century. The guest will learn about Old Town’s settlers and pilgrims, as well as their motives and methods in the city’s construction. Overnight stay in Al Ula in the comforts of your hotel.
Day 2
Hegra Guided Tour & Elephant Rock
After a hearty Arabic breakfast at the Habitas in Al Ula, you will transfer to the Winter Park for a tour starting at 8 am. Visit Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest preserved site of the Nabataean civilisation south of Petra. Home to more than 110 tombs carved from giant rock formations, this ancient site is open for visitors to explore and learn about the culture, traditions, and history of its people. Set in golden desert sands and climbing 3 stories into the Saudi Arabian sky lies the awe-inspiring Elephant Rock, also known as Jabal Al-Fil. Unlike the ornate, hand-carved facades of nearby Hegra’s Nabataean tombs, the "trunk" and "body" of this monolithic red sandstone beast were shaped by millions of years of wind and water erosion. The beauty of the unrefined structure is enhanced by a landscape of golden sands, studded with rocky outcrops, many of which are equally impressive in size and have interesting shapes and figures. Post this you will transfer back to the resort followed by an overnight stay.
Day 3
Dadan & Jabal Ikmah Guided Tour
Post Breakfast Let us take you on a journey through time to discover the ancient and powerful civilisations of the Dadanite and Lihyanite kingdoms, that have built and shaped Al Ula. After exploring the ruins, a bus service takes you on a 10- minute drive to Jabal Ikmah, an open library of inscriptions, rock art and petroglyphs set in a stunning desert canyon. Below, you’ll find tour details, planning tips and what to expect when visiting these extraordinary heritage sites. Guests will need to be at Winter Park 30 minutes before the booking time to take the bus to Dadan.
Day 4
Departure
The final day of the tour will commence with a hearty Arabic breakfast, post which you will have the rest of the day at your leisure. After that, by 12 noon you will be required to vacate the room and check out from the resort in Al Ula.
